About the Mailbox Posts
One of the first things people see when visiting your home is the mailbox post, so why not add a touch of class to make their first impression a lasting one?
We have a variety of mailbox post options hand-crafted from the finest exterior PVC. It includes a UV inhibitor to stop the harmful rays of the sun from breaking it down. PVC is a perfect material for outside use; you may even recognize some of our shapes on your railing or your fence.
The photos below show our five standard choices, plus a planter version (scroll to the right). Click on any of these images to read more.

For installation of each of the above, the post easily slips over a treated wooden 4 x 4 post (3 ½” x 3 ½”) and two screws are placed at the base to keep it secure.
Our mailbox posts are designed to put the opening of the mailbox at approx. 42” from grade.
Our mailbox plate is large enough to accept a standard 6″ wide mailbox. If your mailbox is wider than 6″, we can offer a larger plate as an option.
For a better understanding of the pieces and parts, take a look at the anatomy of our mailbox posts.

How to Install Your Kensington Mailbox Post
- Before you begin, call 811 underground services to locate any underground utility lines. This is a federal requirement.
- Understand the USPS mailbox post installation guidelines.
- Determine the final location of the installed product.
- Mark the location of the post hole.
- Dig a hole approximately 24” deep.
- Install a treated 4 x 4 lumber post in the ground to protrude to just under the support arm of the mailbox post.
- Cement the wood post in the hole, plumb post and let the concrete set.
- Slide the mailbox post over the wood (if using the rose scroll, remove the bottom scroll screw with #2square drive bit and replace once the post is in position).
- Attach two screws at the bottom to secure to the wood.
